Whats the brake you have? I was looking into replacing my levers with metal ones as they feel a lot more secure than the plastic ones I currently have (tried the ones on my mates bike, but don't want to get the same ones)..
[EDIT]
Nevermind, found them on ebay, front disk, lever setup and caliper priced up at £49.99 BIN.. Will be ordering on monday once I get paid... ____________________ Bike: Currently Bikeless... Gahh

I'm getting more interested in starting mountain biking...Is there any bikes you'd recommend for a budget of £500 - £700? Any good sites/forums I can have a look around for info on?

Loving the bombers. Brother has some on his DH bike. His DH bike cost more than my motorbike. ____________________ Willson - "If you go out on that CBR600 in the winter, you're going to do more miles on your side than on your wheels."

Do those forks have a 1.5" steerer? I just thought it might have been a bit silly to get a 1.5" compatible frame then get a 1.1/8th steerer fork.
20mm bolt through hubs are definitely the way forward, especially coupled with a maxle type setup like you have! ____________________ Now: '00 Kawasaki ZRX1100R - Past: '84 Yamaha DT125, '89 Kawasaki KLR600, '97 Yamaha XJ600N

Funnily enough I was looking at the specialized hardrock stuff, gonna pop to a few of the local shops this weekend and have a look at a few for size.

I think they use those suntour forks. They are at the bottom of the "good" fork spectrum. A step up from RST but still shite. It depends what you are going to use the bike for but if you are only hitting some small trails they will be fine. Anything heavier and I would look at getting a more capable set
