 |

Today I found notice message in the GIVI top case.
3kg : Maximum loading capacity per case
Max 120km/H : Maximum speed at full load
I think these limits are too conservative than actual use.
Are these defense by GIVI against lawsuit heaven USA do you think?
(like McDonald coffee case)

I've exceed both limits several times with my case and I've never had any issue with it opening/making me crash. I think the limits are there as a precaution as the weight does hang behind the rear wheel which causes the bike to handle differently.
As long as you aren't stupid with the case (i.e. don't carry 40kg in the case when doing 200mp/h) you should be fine really. ____________________ Past: 55 Sym Jet, 91 ZZR250, 03 NSR125R. Present: 97 ER-5.

I noticed that their 30 litre and 52 litre top cases had both 3kg max limit. They must be coverting themselves. Thanks. ____________________ own:2020 Serow 250

I once carried a roof-top UHF TV aerial on the back of my bike. Must have looked quite strange to passers-by! |

The limiting factor will be the security of the rack, not the box. Since they don't know what sort of cheap arse piece of monkey-steel you've got sellotaped to the bike, they'll err on the side of ridiculous underestimation. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

That must be a good reason!
But I noticed that not only Monolock series, but also Monokey series are limited to 3kg max. ____________________ own:2020 Serow 250
