GIVI notice(Max 3kg, 120km/h)

Today I found notice message in the GIVI top case.
3kg : Maximum loading capacity per case
Max 120km/H : Maximum speed at full load
I think these limits are too conservative than actual use.
Are these defense by GIVI against lawsuit heaven USA do you think?
(like McDonald coffee case)

I've exceed both limits several times with my case and I've never had any issue with it opening/making me crash. I think the limits are there as a precaution as the weight does hang behind the rear wheel which causes the bike to handle differently.

As long as you aren't stupid with the case (i.e. don't carry 40kg in the case when doing 200mp/h) you should be fine really.

Probably mainly covering themselves, but overloaded cases can certainly provoke handling problems.

My givi box has a mounting lug missing which has been replaced by a R clip and a Cable tie. I have had easily 4 times that weight in my box and have touched 140 with it. They are fine.

Cruel enough taking a turkey on the bike. You could have at least kept it warm.

Thing the worse load I carried on a bike was a pair of drive shafts for the car with the hubs attached. Although have carried 125 2 stroke engines a few times.

The limiting factor will be the security of the rack, not the box. Since they don't know what sort of cheap arse piece of monkey-steel you've got sellotaped to the bike, they'll err on the side of ridiculous underestimation.
