 |
|
Hi,
Is there alot of difference between the expensive and dirt-cheap 2-stroke oil? (besides the price obviously!)
Ive finally got my SH50 on the road, and have been using it constantly for the past 3 days, its so fun!! Its now time to top up the oil. Its a standard ancient honda engine so is capable of being run on horse piss with soil mixed in, so will expensive oil make a lot of difference?
Also, I have turned the oil supply up as when hot it was really rattly. This has cured the problem but it now smokes heavily when cold. Im not bothered as its clean when hot, would this cause a problem?

Quality 2-stroke oil is better than cheapo oil no matter what engine you put it in. 2-strokes are marginally lubricated so you should give it the best chance you can.
As for over-oiling - carry spare plugs. It won't hurt your engine but it might foul the plug. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Well it's not expensive at £70 for a piston & barrel but not exactly pennies either. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'
