Wouldn't have thought that will work. Superglue has super powers (hence the name) and eats into most plastic, making it mushy and allowing it to stick to other plastic.
Best thing to do is let it dry then sand flat and paint.

Acetone will get it off, but it might take some of the paint with it. If you were careful and did a test patch on a non visible bit first it'd probably be ok. Alternative is to sand it off using increasingly fine wet and dry and then T cut the area afterwards to blend it in, this largely depends on the thickness of paint in the area.

Acetone is found in nail varnish remover. Don't buy the eco friendly all natural vitamin enriched nourishing type, get the cheap harsh smelling types that come in a bottle and have a chemical list that either says ACETONE or KETONE.

hi,
i've used this stuff https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Superglue-Removal-Super-Glue-Remover-Cleaner-/280635706422?pt=UK_Crafts_Cardmaking_Scrapbooking_Glue_Tape_EH&hash=item4157310c36#ht_1010wt_1139
(or certainly something very similar) to remove the mess that the liquid superglue makes.
i now use the superglue gel, as the liquid is far too thin & it gets everywhere, (including my fingers normally, lol) except for where you want most contact.
used it on a fairing that someone had bodged with cheap superglue & when used gently, it doesnt remove the clearcoat. (done at your own risk though, lol)
cheers,
GAZ

Super glue is a fairly ordinary acrylic adhesive, the only super part is the speed at which it sets, it certainly doesn't eat into anything, or make plastic mushy. If it sets on a hard, glossy surface, excess can often be removed with no more than a fingernail. It's generally pretty useless on bike related applications as it is highly susceptible to the effects of damp, and will degrade over time.

superglue isnt normal plastic glue, main components are isocyanates (sp?) curing is sped up by moisture - which is why it loves to stick so much to your fingers/eyes

not much help now but try masking areas with sellotape - wont stick to that. cover fingers with tape to stop gumming them up too

You can get glue remove products, but i think that anything that will remove dried on glue will likely also remove dried on paint Laughing
You could always carefully sand it off then polish up the laquer?

tried for ages getting L plate gunk off. In the end WD40 & a rag worked.
Possibly degreaser may be more effective.

May not work for the type of glue you have, but for 15 seconds work its worth a try.

Nail polish remover will soften it, though it'll likely attack the laquer. There used to be a product called Z7 Debonder which was specifically for removing it, I bet that's just re-labeled nail polish remover....
