So its likely to be either the reg/rec or the alternator. That pdf should hep you a fair bit and if its something more bizarre like a bad connection it will help you also.

Mine is on the right hand side of the bike at the front of the frame, above the front cylinder and behind the radiator.
Using a 1/4" drive ratchet and 10mm socket you can reach through the frame and unbolt it without lifting the tank  |
