Hi there my battery keeps going flat on my sv650...I have charged the battery and put a meter on it and it reads 12.8v but when the bikes running the meter reads 11.8v does anyone know what the problem might be?

So its likely to be either the reg/rec or the alternator. That pdf should hep you a fair bit and if its something more bizarre like a bad connection it will help you also.

Good luck! Laughing

To be honest mate I don't know. Going from experience its normally located somewhere in the tail unit, perhaps on the left hand side bolted to the frame.

Check SV650.org for expert advice on that one bud!

Mine is on the right hand side of the bike at the front of the frame, above the front cylinder and behind the radiator.

Using a 1/4" drive ratchet and 10mm socket you can reach through the frame and unbolt it without lifting the tank Thumbs Up
