Just done a camchain on a ZZR im making into a trackbike.

I would say if its only like it when cold you have a good 10-15k left..

This is the chain i took out after 140,000 miles on left, new on right. You get stiff links over time, which (can) make it jump the teeth on the cam chain gear. But i would say you will be fine for a bit.
Expensive job though.. Engine out, split cases..

Is it still running the stock cam chain tensioner? if so, you may be able to sort the noise out by replacing it with a manual one

Cam chain rattle when cold is normal for CBR600s.

As is the clutch basket whine.

My first CCT lasted nearly 70k before needing replacing.

unless you need to get in the engne for something else why split the cases ?????

i'v done loads of c/chains with the engine still fitted by just cutting the old chain, feeding the new one in fixed to the old and refttng the new one using a rivet link

surely im not alone on this one Confused

Well i would not do that. But thats my opinion.
I tend to look at it this way.. A motorcycle chain comes to you split with a link.. A camchain comes to you UN-split.. i wonder why?
The cam chain goes at a far far faster rate than your drive chain and by knocking out a link pin and replacing it you weaken the chain.
Just my opinion mind. Wink
