Spent hour and a half waiting for the AA to come, I'd run out of fuel
Felt engine running lumpy and thought it was low fuel, so for the first time ever I reached down and turned the tap to Reserve (or at least I think I did, see below) but nope, no help.
Two possibilities. The tap doesn't work properly, or I've been a twat and been setting it to run on Reserve ever since I've owned the bike thinking it was main tank
So can anyone confirm the status of the fuel guage (on my CG125) in this pic:

I've been thinking that's main tank, and to get Reserve I have to turn it down fully, with off being "in the middle" (handle horizontal) ____________________ 1998 CG125 (Sold) CB500 [+ Clio 172]

Up = reserve
Down = main Tank

Yep, your just on normal 'fuel on' from the main tank, a turn to the left would be 'fuel off' and then up is reserve  ____________________ 07' Honda Hornet now full powaah! My guide on performing an oil change! |

On my xr 125, which is similar, the down position is fuel on, just like the one in the picture.

I think people in this thread need to remember that fuel taps can be either way. The RXS is the opposite layout to my CG125.

I would have thought they would all be fairly similar, even across makes and models! Obviously not.

Thanks all, especially TomH, I will check the fuel filter and tap in the morning. I did try looking closely for markings on the fuel tap whilst trying to keep myself amused for 2 hours at the side of the road but unfortunately mine's too old & grubby to really make the markings out, perhaps if I cleaned it well I might be able to see!
