Check to see if there's an air restricting washer in the carb between the filter and the carb
Could be the other kind though, which I believe is somewhere near the clutch bit ____________________ ♥ YZF-R6 '05 ♥

Was it like a metal circle with holes in it?
I'm certain that's the restriction, you'll need to take it out and altar the air/fuel mixture to compensate for the increase in air going in to the engine ____________________ ♥ YZF-R6 '05 ♥

R6 Wilson is right ....will also be a part of your exhaust (most likley the near where it comes out of the engine ....with another pipe coming off and going back into the engine ...(ithink this slows down the rate carbon leaves the bike as it sends some back in not100% though) but i know that if you take that off and weld up the gaps it unrestricts 1 part of the exhaust.....most likley other restrictions in the exhaust too.........on the up side the bike is probly worth over 1k possibly near 2k if its newer sell it get a big bike |

That is the restrictor, yes.
And to altar the fuel/air mixture you turn one of the screws on the carburettor. If you don't have a clue what you are doing I'd recommend asking the help of someone who does, but if you don't and want to risk it go ahead, have a look in your manual which screw does which and play with them a slight turn at a time until it's right
Yes it'll make it faster, your ped isn't going fast because the amount of air taken in to the engine, the more air you can get in, the more fuel you can get in, the bigger the bang, the faster the movement! Good luck ____________________ ♥ YZF-R6 '05 ♥

If its taken you 291 days just to find out what jet size it is, i'd highly recommend just getting a bigger bike, you'll enjoy it 10 fold ____________________ Malaguti F12 Phantom-Dead, Suzuki AY50- Dead, NRG power DD LQ, CBR125.

Speaking from experience ... Dont bother doing it unless your going to do it properly and know what your doing .... or just DONT BOTHER at all!
I had a Derbi Senda SM50 Limited Edition, mine was de-restricted and would hit 58mph (reving the bollox off it) and 50-53 on a flat.
It didnt last long mate... Ive now upgraded to a Honda NSR125F and its the best thing i ever did, is pretty quick, comfy & im not filling up every 10 mile because of sh*t small tank.
You can get them cheap enough if you look hard enough... i got mine for £800! BARGAIN!!

Well, considering it took OP the best part of a year to find the carb jet he may well have worked out how to derestrict his moped after 11 years... you never know.
In the meantime, 10 seconds on Google found this:
https://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?194212-help-with-derestricting
Apparently it depends on which revision of the machine you have, which unfortunately is one of the many facts you have failed to tell us... |
