I hate these things:-
https://images.cmsnl.com/img/products/clip1jh_medium9046711106-01_8249.jpg
Yeah, they do the job there built for, but why are they so farkin' awkward to undo/move?
These things must be the cause of more skinned knuckles than any other bike bit, they are the spawn of satan, a sick joke foisted on us by the god of evil engineering! Pure evil manifested in, low quality, spring steel!
What are your nominations for satanic cycle parts? ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |

I've a feeling I might be adding disc bolts, in the near future, they're soaking in penetrating oil right now! ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |

Another BMW one.
Torx bolts, why the hell cant they use Allen socket heads like everyone else, even worst is they use a mixture of Allen and Torx on some bikes.
https://hlmet.com/images/torx_socket_head_cap_bolts_420c300B.jpg
Odd size bolt heads and nut outer diameters is also another BMW trick
26mm wheel nuts when everyone else using 24mm or 27mm.
7mm air box bolt heads.
All replaced again with standard sizes on my BMW,s ____________________ Past:NRG50,AF1125(x2),NSR125RR,ZZR250,CX500,VFR400,KR1S,ZZR600(x2),CB400N,YZF1000(x2),KH125,Z200,FX400R,CBR954RR(x2)GPZ500S,GT550,VFR750F(x2),RD350N,XR650R,CBR600F,CB250,KDX250,YZF750R,CRM250,400EXC,KLR650,TTR600RE,DR350S,R100GSPD,RGV250,VMAX1200,DL650,KZ750 Present:G650XC,C12,CRF450X,1190ADV |

Any part that looks metal and therefore should in ones simple mind, be magnetic, and therefore be retrievable with your magic extendable magnetic wand, that you use more than any other tool, for the stupid amount of nuts and bolts you fumble! to usually the most awkward place on your bike. ____________________ Jogging on, destination living. |

in my opinion i think the torx bolts are a good idea cos they are less likely to round off due to the many points and people being sure to use the right size etc ____________________ Honda CB-1, TS125X

I'll see that and raise you one of these:
https://www.toppier.co.uk/shop/64-190-thickbox/20-x-nylon-plastic-screw-fastener-rivet-clips-ford.jpg
Hateful bastard things. My bike is very well thought out, easy to work and each of the panels come off in less than 5 minutes but they use these, the Phillips version of the push rivet. They get chewed up so easily and the ones on the bottoms of the fairings are impossible. |
Both of those are a piece of piss, if you have one of these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Door-car-trim-upholstery-remover/sim/B001J52274/2
Top one, you drive the pin through, using a suitable drift/screwdiver, then flip it out with the trim clip tool.
Bottom one, you use the trim clip tool to provide gentle upward pressure to the main body of the clip, while turning the screw with a Philips driver, not a Posidriv. ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........
