The r4 and the ninja look really good.the Honda is a bit Sick still waiting for the Suzuki offering but if I had the choice the r4 is for me .the twin front discs were the decider although the kwak does look good Cool

What would you have?

They may sell well, but you grab a "CBR250" at top dollar, you can get an older commuter for less than half the price, no direct depreciation and it goes faster Laughing

What's that? Another overpriced, underpowered bike, assembled in India, for people with more money than discerning good sense?

I was particularly amused by this gem, found while researching the R4: "The bike is powered by a 250 cc 4-stroke liquid cooled single cylinder engine with fuel injection.The engine has 4 valves controlled my an advanced DOHC camshaft. Cross-plane crankshaft seen in Yamaha R1 might make its way into this bike."

Personally, I'd love to see how in the hell the reviewermongoloid expects to see this implemented, but since I'm not the proud owner of a srs journalistic wordpress page, I clearly know nothing Laughing

I like the look of that Yamaha?..... any more details about these bikes?.
Are they all going to be sooooo small that only midgets can ride them?
Single cylinder? twins? ILF`s what are they?.

Could we be at the begining of a re-jouvination of the smaller cc classes?... I hope so.
I find it so depressing that we (in the UK) are mainly focused on 125--->600-->750---> 1000+ bikes.
Yes I know there are other bikes available in the UK, but there are not that many when you think about what is available in other countries.

Surely the more types of bikes out there will mean there is a chance that there is something to appeal to more potential/new bikers.
I would rather see a few of these out there than the people who would of rode them in a car because they could`nt find a bike that suited them.
So what if the bikes mentioned cant do 80 gazillion miles an hour or accelerate to 60 in a tenth of a micro-second, they look fine.

Commuters dressed in rocketship clothes, yer sure they are.
We all need a commuter bike sometime in our biking life.
I`ll bet you`ve all had a commuter bike at some point?

No one's saying that - infact, you may have missed that these 'inane' people often say "if you want a sporty 250, get a sporty 250".
These bikes are not 'sporty'. They have fancy fairings matched to engines slower than a twenty year old 125.

The kawasaki being listed as 33hp did seem to make sense. The choice of a single with just over 20hp for the others suggests their market is purely aimed at fashion-victim kids with too much money.

From you i sense much crap... these motorcycle are not targeted at you... they are targeted on entire different group who may likely have only riden 125cc nothing bigger... you guys may not want to go down the power range but there is not need to hate on a machine you will never buy since it can't satisfy your need of 'speed'...

That is a fucking beast.

The ones in the original are probably "big" singles or by the looks of the Yamaha, parallel twin. 250cc tiny twin or single will not set the world on fire, nor will it be a good stepping stone to a bigger bike.

I doubt many riders can ride to the limits of their own 125's. Why go 1/4 step up and get another wheezy bag of guff? Stepping to a 400 sports or a commuter 400 would seem a better bet.

Your argument about them not looking as good is irrelevant. My GSXR was a state, my ZX6r isn't too great either, but I would take those over those jazzed up commuters any day. 2 or 3 gears would lose them on the motorway...and there is no chance you'd keep up with one in town Laughing
