Moto Guzzi Cali - Marelli 441 ECU Help needed.

Hey guys,

This is a tricky one. The bike is a 1997 Moto Guzzi California 1100 which has a Marelli 441 ECU. I need to identify the component in the below image which is attached to the ECU's PCB. I don't think it's activating the ignition coil relay which it should be doing. I would replace the ECU but I can't see any on ebay etc.

Any suggestions as to what it may be?

Looks like a ceramic hybrid module (silicon die placed directly on the board and wirebonded then epoxy dipped) if you're referring to the big white thing. Could be almost anything. Is there a part number printed on the other side ?

Yeah I'm referring to the 'big white thing' I neglected to mention that in the OP.

I don't think it's a single silicon die placed onto it, there are a series of square and rectangular 'lumps' under the resin which are probably small form factor capacitors, resistors and/or transistors.

One of the outputs from this module feeds a Vcc line on a CA3262 power driver chip. I originally thought this chip had blown but I couldn't get any reading on the Vcc line. It should be 5V I believe. I'm wondering if the white blob thing is a bespoke circuit built for this ECU. Perhaps one part of it is a voltage regulator/converter to drop the 12V feed down to a 5V Vcc. Hmm dunno.

No part numbers unfortunately.

I've removed the wax covering from the PCB to expose the circuitry. Some more images this time in album format:
