Like clockwork, as my CBF125 endures its first spring it suffers from its first bout of kangaroo hopping - during a sunny bank holiday ride naturally, fortunately however, on the last mile riding back home!
Vid of it happening;

I turned the bike off for a few minutes to let it cool down before I made the last mile, noticed a slight drop in power but it didn't kangaroo home.
This will be the 4th repair under warranty on my half year old 2000 mile CBF125! I hope the dealers will be happy to see me, again. |

The unsourced anecdote goes that it's down to an anti-rust coating in the tank that should have been flushed out by dealers, but generally wasn't.
No idea how true that is, but Honda resolutely haven't done a general recall on the pumps. If it's true, and the coating is sitting as a layer of evil sludge at the bottom of the tank, it could clog up pumps indefinitely.
Either way, they really need to sort this out. There's only so long that they can stonewall on it before even the lazy twunts in the biking press stop stroking off about legendary Honda reliability. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Had a similar thing happen to me before on the CG only happened the once though, the cause I believe was some dirt/rust in the tank blocking the reserve fuel pipe. As it only happened when I went onto reserve and was low on fuel.
After doing some riding on reserve the problem has completely gone. ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS

To be honest, the tank lining story sounds like a lot of bollocks, I present it strictly as gossip.
The consistent story is that they kangaroo in hot weather, which sounds more like a vapour lock problem than pump clogging per se. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Update.
I rang the dealer today about this problem and they've booked me in for a repair, which will happen on the 28th... It's the earliest slot they have |

This is caused by the fuel pump- it's either faulty or the stuff they line the tanks with when shipping them is clogging it up- get it fixed under warranty, if the warranty is gone they will sometimes fix it as a goodwill gesture since it happens to like 50% of CBF125's.
It's really bad tbh, especially since so many learners use CBF's, happened to me when I was on L's, has the potential to be really really dangerous. |

also under consumer law, even if the warranty has ran out and the pump plays up again, then its class as a warranty job still.
The replacemnt pump that was fitted is also subjected to a warranty in its on right.
Correct me if i'm wrong but i'm sure that is the case. Watching Dom Littlewood on the BBC has helped ____________________ Honda H100S2 Rebuild - https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=253852 |

i have also been reading that cleaning out the injector helps as well.
Generally the crap from the tank doesn't help, and the need for a filter is advisable as there isn't one fitted?! ____________________ Honda H100S2 Rebuild - https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=253852 |

Burning through its oil between the 2,500 mile oil change intervals, and seizing.
Epic corrosion if you take a trip to the seaside.
Still no recalls on the CBF125. Way to piss away your reputation, Honda. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
