I put a scaffold tube under the frame before the pillion foot pegs. Put a stack of concrete blocks either side of the bike (Equal Heights), Then lift the bike and put the ends of the scaffold tube on the stacks of blocks. It is really sturdy and was the method i used when taking the engine out my Ninja. Sounds Bodge but does the job ____________________ Your Daddy, Everyone's Friend. |

Make the said stand to hold the bike safe when not doing the engine fitting.....get a couple of mates over to help when your removing or installing the engine! That's what I do anyhow and I've got front and rear stands and a bike lift. Nothing beats extra hands and eyes when it comes to heavy lifting and lining up engine mounts and getting bolts in at the same time! Usually costs a couple of beers and some snacks ____________________ Current bikes...cbr929, KDX200's, Rd125lc mk2, RGV250's |

Lay the engine on its side (on towels, cushions or whatever. Lower the rolling chassis over the engine. Bolt up some of the mounts and then lift the lot back up.
Used this method on a GS1000 chop and it can be done with just one pair of hands |

Any Real Reason on why to put them upside down
Whenever I have to lift up the CG (Ok it is light) I just shove one under the right or where it would go and then the other by the sidestand. Push the bike to the right and push the other jack under the footrest after lifting up sidestand with my foot.
Never had any problems doing it that way. ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS

Front pegs are hinged to allow them to scrape on the ground and not upset the bike. Smaller bikes only have a solid bar running through so no need to turn. ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |
