Spent ages trying to figure this out and just cracked it. But need further advice. I was losing the time and trip on my bike after ignition switch off. Tried new clocks couldn't find anything. Traced the permanent live back to the Ecu fuse, which is a permanent live. Looked underneath the fuse box and the wire has been spliced and runs into the alarm. Obviously that's the immobiliser. I can't believe it's been like this from day one (dealer fit alarm).
Only way I can think to deal with this, without losing immobiliser is to run a feed to the clocks with a diode inline to prevent it running back and powering up the ECU when it's immobilised.
I'm going to try and find another circuit to immobilise too. ____________________ Currently: Yamaha DT 125 LC2,Repsol Fireblade, and Bumblebee MSX 125 |

Just tested by running a feed and bypassing. It worked. Can't believe a dealer would immobilise a circuit needing a permanent live feed. Will look at the diagram and see if there is another circuit which can be safely immobilised. ____________________ Currently: Yamaha DT 125 LC2,Repsol Fireblade, and Bumblebee MSX 125 |

Well I don't know who fitted that alarm, but I'm pretty sure there is a more appropriate circuit to immobilise than the bikes permanent live. That means that the clocks didn't have power and crucially, the ECU isn't therefore allowed to retain data it's learned, as it's reset each time. Anyway all good now. ____________________ Currently: Yamaha DT 125 LC2,Repsol Fireblade, and Bumblebee MSX 125 |
