financial ombudsman (lady) was very helpful, drafted a letter of complaint with me over the phone, said that it was probably the brokers (Bennetts) that are sticking the charge on and not Aviva, she agreed that clicking a mouse to change the fact that I have passed my test really doesn't warrant a £30 charge especially as they are not sending out the paper work but have emailed it through to me to print off myself ...... costing me yet more money..... complaints procedure should take no more than 8 weeks, so watch this space. |

to be honest I didn't see it as a renewal, more a case of letting them know I have now passed my test and no longer classed as a learner, two minutes and a click of a button wahey £30 please
paid for my policy in full and not on instalments, bikes on eBay so will hopefully be sold by this time next week so wont need the policy any more, will I have to pay to cancel the policy? or will they give me a refund for the 8 months that I haven't yet used |

You fucked up...
https://rogerborg.dnsd.me/you-fucked-up-you-trusted-us.jpg
...you trusted them.
Well, despite the fact that you went with the cheapest quote and didn't read the contract that you were agreeing to... er... good on you for sticking to your guns, even if only to stitch them up with the cost of an Ombudsman case. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

and the result is........ no charge, had a call from Bennetts today, and they have agreed that as no actual paper work has changed and there is no change to the policy premium that the admin fee is not in proportion to the work carried out and so the fee has been wavered.
so it was worth a phone call to the ombudsman and a letter happy bunny |

Nice one, it's just a pity they weren't daft enough to let it go to a written referral. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Rated helpful as I hope it will now set a precedent for bennetts with regards to that admin change
