As you can see from this thread https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=274628

I've broken down 200mi from my house however I'm staying at my Dads but I need to be home by Thursday 2pm for work.

If the AA can't fix it at the roadside tomorrow when I call them I've paid for national recovery with the AA and I quote

''National recovery.
We'll take you, your car and up to 7 passengers to any single destination on the UK mainland if your car can't be fixed at the roadside.''

So would they take me the full 200mi home? Going to be a shit day for whoever gets the call out for me, the journey will take up their whole day surly?

I will add I've got my Dads neighbor's son coming round tonight to see if he can fix it as he is a truck mechanic and owned a few bikes, worth a punt.

They operate relay. So if it is out of their area you will be met by A.N. Uthir with a similar sag wagon to continue the journey.

That's how it used to work.

If you are not at home then no reason why they won't tow you home.

It will be suspended on a trailer behind a van or they hoi the Heap of Shite onto the back of the reccy motor using a wee bogey thing that is crammed to the brim with teh ghey. Sad

From what I was told before by an AA recovery driver is that they are given so many hours on the road (their shift pattern) they will take you as far as possible with return journey added in and then someone else will take you the rest of the way.

Alternatively if the driver has just come on the shift he will take you all the way and that may just be his one trip for the day.

A few years ago I broke down in Snowdonia, North Wales.
I had relay on my AA. It took about 10 hours and 4 different drops to other recovery vehicles, but we made it home to London. We also met Prince Harry while waiting for one of the recovery lorries in a services.
Long story short, the AA will get you home (or garage) from any point in the UK. Just don't expect it to be a fast journey!

Make sure you call them in plenty of time - they may try and fix it themselves. You may then have to wait some time for them to call someone who can handle bikes. If they try and fob you off, be firm with them.
