Hi guys well where to start..... I had a water pump go, the cog snapped. Replaced the cog and gasket. As i was doing this id did not know how to get to the plastic cog so i was trying to take the alternator nut off the but was on real tight could not get it off. I then put a screw driver inside the through to lock alternator off as i did this some metal or something came loose not sure what. Could this be causing no spark. any suggestions guy would really appreciate this. The bike has been sat a few months as well the bike did start before.

Regards

Gareth

You've probably broken the stator, take the wheel you locked in place off (might need a flywheel puller) and check for damage.

Thanks very much for the reply. I have had the battery charged and is brand new. I have tried to get then nut off the alternator but is sized on and wont budge. I tried to stop the engine from turning over with a screw driver through a hole in the alternator but snapped the screw driver. Now there is a noise as though metal or something has snapped off not sure. What is the best way to lock engine off and get this nut off as have tried almost everything i can think of.

Regards

Gareth

you can lock the engine by sticking a good bit of nylon rope down into the cylinder
