 |
|
Considering fitting a mini scottoiler to the ZZR so I don't have to worry about keeping on top of lubing the chain.
The millage I do I'd need to top it up once a month, if that.
Is it worth it?
is it worth the hassle of fitting it? ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

Personally im a bit dubious about these. I know a few couriers that swear by them but for normal riding id rather just clean and oil it myself every so often.
Some cheaper similar alternative to scottoilers

There is a Scott Oiler on my bike, (came with the bike), crud build up, on my back wheel, doesn't seem any more or less than it would be without it. Unless space is severly limited, I can't see any disadvantages.
I say go for it! ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |

I use https://www.pdoiler.co.uk/ but with a Scottoiler nib on the rear sprocket, it's an electronic system (at a fraction of the Scottoiler cost, albeit without the fancy screen) - it's been absolutely spot-on and took zero effort to install and set-up. The pump uses metered doses too, so there's no need to adjust for temperature - it will always apply the same sized drop. ____________________ '12 NC700S & '12 CB600F Hornet [Stolen by some dickless twat] Suzuki GT500 shed |

My boss had it on his Hornet. The chain lasted a long time and never really got loose. Based on that, I would say it is worth it. I use to make a mess doing it myself, so if it messy, it would be no different for me. ____________________ Hit the G spot. |

Depends what you want.
I have a Tutoro Auto because I use my bike everyday and do more miles than average rider.
11000 miles and I adjusted the chain once. It may need another adjustment soon.
I'm pretty sure the chain will last at least 40 000. I hope for 60 000.
Some couriers manage to do 80 000 on a chain with an oiler.
You can't get such a mileage even if you lube your chain after every ride.
I use the cheapest oil from Halfords. 5 quid for 5 Litres should last a lifetime.
Top Tip - DO NOT use a Twin feed nozzle. Single one work MUCH better. You chain will be lubed better. ____________________ MCForum meetup - One of the biggest motorcycle clubs in UK
