I traded the R1 a while back for a TL1000S, thought it was a 98, turns out its a 97.

No worries, it was clean, had a nice SS exhaust system and sounded great.

Rode like shit however for 3 reasons.

1, The injectors were filled with some form of yellow shit, also they had been removed before and the seals were not replaced. Explains my 60 miles to a tank, it pisses itself from the front injector when its switched on and pumping. Fixed that, new seals and bam, no leaks!

2, Due to some previous owner (maybe a few owners back but still) bodge work inside the tank. Suzuki intended for there to be a filter inside the tank with a little pipe work just after the pump.

Not here, oh no! Someone had inherited my genes and just wanged a real loose bit of fuel pipe that had perished and was leaking. They also shoved a filter the size of a can of baked beans between the rear cylinder and the tank, so I cannot re-use the pipe that should have gone pump > injector rail.
Thanks to Pete, the tank internals were fixed, he also synced the throttle bodies and sorted the vertical side stand! Top guy.

3, Suzuki fitted this horrendously stiff steering damper. It is totally stupid and ruins the handling. Pulled that off and left it off the first time I removed the tank.

Also, it was still restricted Rolling Eyes Someone has cut the speed limit wire and done it properly with selotape you know, so sorted that with heatshrink.
They had however left the standard restricted intakes in there. See top left in this photo.

I set away with a drill and a file to remove the solid crescent of shit rather than pay Mr Suzuki £90. Worked perfectly Laughing

This is how it looked a few weeks ago after it was running bang on.

https://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b545/paddynewman/P1010547_zps7801014c.jpg

Loaned it to Doovy so he could have a bike after he sold his and unfortunately someone damaged it. Didn't bother me too much, although I had to comfort Doovy who was gutted! The guy paid out for the damages in cash though so I can't really say anything bad about the situation Thumbs Up

This is the damage caused.

With the money the guy paid me after I priced up all the parts and bits I could either buy the panel required or pop a little more cash in and get the full respray. I chose the latter. Means I get the repair done, it becomes mint again and everyone is happy!

This is the current status

I've also got a Power Commander sitting here ready to go on and a 15k resistor to basically have a TRE. Also dropping 2 teeth on the front for that hooligan feel. I'll add more stuff when more stuff happens Wink

If Pete. is reading this would you be interested in balancing the TB's on an Aprilia Falco if I throw some cash your way?

P.S. Nice Tiller, be interested to see how it compares to my Falco.

Watch those indicators, look the same as mine, if they are wobbly then they will soon just fall away from the bracket as they are held on with rubber stalks and these perish over time/weather.

Love the TL

It is unlikely to work with my bike, the 97 had a shit wiring loom and is far different to your TLR Sad

Even so, its only 1 wire and 1 resistor, I'm sure I'll manage Laughing

Irezumi aka Reuben, if you are close to Maidstone, feel free to come have a go.

Here it is, repaired, painted and looking far more sexual than it should Thumbs Up

It was a map made for me after I detailed the mods to the guys who I bought the PC2 from. Set up for UK inlets, full exhaust, aftermarket air filter, basically their stage 1 map Thumbs Up
