400 miles! The gearchange mechanism hasn't even had time to bed in yet. Start to force things and its be crap gearchanges forevermore.
Ensure you run some lube down the clutch cable once the rubber boot has been pulled back. I used 3-1 initially then a few drops of clean engine oil. It'll make a world of difference.
Just a small tip...
Clutch lever play between a cold engine and hot engine differs, as with engine tickover speed, it's best adjusted when the engine is hot |

Slack chain
YBR's are a real sod for it, when the chain goes slack the gears dont quite engage propperly and it'll usually ping out and go straight into neutral. ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

YBR owners handbook states lube & adjust every 200 miles or if it rains. Give the chain a quick pre ride kick with your boot to check play before getting on - or wait till it starts pinging out of 2nd ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

I found that my YBR was popping out of 2nd for no reason at all and leaving me in neutral. I found that difficult to select neutral and also changing down to first, whether moving or not, was getting difficult and frustrating.
Adjusting the clutch cable fixed all those issues and it just takes 30 seconds.
Slide the rubber guard down from the clutch lever to expose the adjuster nuts. Undo the lock nut on the clutch cable - the big disk shaped nut next to the clutch lever, then turn the adjuster, which sits inside the lock nut. Just try turning it one whole revolution. Tighten the lock nut again and then give the bike a go, see it if has helped. If it did not help try turning the adjuster nut the other way.
It's easy enough to do this while out on a ride, but not while you're moving, OBVIOUSLY. ____________________ current bike to first bike: SV650s K3, YBR125, Vespa GT125, Vespa ET4-125, Suzuki CS-50 (!!)
