I have a electrical fault with my speedo lights, i have replaced all bulbs as this bike is a project and needed some of them work (i think the other connectors need new ones) but basically all of the light stay on when the ignition is set to full or (engine on and lights on). So for example i put the ignition to the third position and all the speedo lights, light up including the oil, indicators, the full beam, the engine temp, the fuel light.

I know for a fact they shouldn't all light up when the ignition is all the way on. Now i will have a look tomorrow in the day light, but i don't fancy re-wiring the speedo light wires or having to strip them out and replace them, could this be a problem with some relay that shows the lights to be on when they need to, i.e the fuel when its low or the oil when its low.

When the ignition is at the second position though (engine on but not headlights) none of the lights show up even the indicators when i switch them on, there is nothing.

Now my oil is at its full, my fuel is full, my full beam is showing on even when full beam is on dipped and my engine would be cold but all the lights stay on.

Surely at least the indicator speedo light should flash when indicators are on but they just stay on, even when indicators are off. The only other thing i can think if is the brake switch is missing which im replacing next week after re-building the master cylinder i realised it had no brake switch, would this make the speedo lights short out or affect the connection?

Sorry for the vague crappy description of my problem but it all i could explain it as.

Thanks, Matt

More than you do, I could fix that in about an hour and you wouldn't even be able to see what I'd done.

Trace all your wires back using a wiring diagram if it checks out ok dirty connections (inside clocks) or dirty earth somewhere. Sounds a simple problem but it was the way you asked it. That's why no one answered unless taking the piss. If you can take on a project bike but can't problem solve basic problems maybe you should reconsider taking projects on.

Other than the over-compensating for a small penis, shouty topic title and total failure to say what bike he has. Is there another reason everyone is jumping on this guy and not telling him he has a bad earth?

Pull your 2" penis from your sisters hairdryer and try to be sensible (at least on a blow dry), on a positive note at least no one could call you a wanker with a matchstick like yours, P.S... your sister told me.

Sounds like your subframe is twisted...

Probably because none of us know anything about bikes.

In fact why is it called BCF? I thought this forum was '' we don't know anything about bikes anonymous''

That's why you joined right?

I could post a lot of sensible stuff that may well help you a lot with tracing and curing the issue as could many others here, but I don't feel like it really.
