what's the best way to take off glue[from carbon fibre wrap]

hi all.ive bought a yamaha fj1200 that has been sprayed matt black and carbon fibre wrap stuck on[badly].im going to pull off wrap and respray.before i start pulling.will there be glue left behind?what's the best way to get it off before sanding?will i need to prime if im going to gloss black it?

Lighter fluid, zippo type, not aerosol gas - shifts any type of sticky mess and won't melt paint where nail varnish remover probably will.

If it's proper vinyl wrap, nothing will be left behind.

Use a hairdrier to heat up the wrap as you peel it off. If you don't, you'll land up picking little pointy strips off one at a time. If you heat it up a little first so it's flexible, you'll be able to slowly peel huge sheets off.

Take this from someone who has personally wrapped his petrol tank with carbon effect wrap then 6 months later peeled it off and replaced it with orange.

I do vinyling at work and use citrus cleaner - it's non solvent based and smells nicer on your hands than zippo fluid!
