The front is usually two prongs, one sits under the fork whilst the other goes behind it, it's just a case of making sure they are located properly and pushing down on the handle.
Rear stands come in cup or hook form, both are easy to use. If you have bobbins on your swingsrm you can use the hook version, fairly self explanatory just hook the bobbins then push the handle down or if you have the cup type stand, locate them properly under the swingsrm and push down the handle.
When you first give it a go it might be worth getting a mate to hold the bike level for you but once you've done it a few times you should be fine to do it on your own. ____________________ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OPv5mDPQ14

I've got a paddock stand that sits underneath my rear bobbins
Didn't like the "swingarm" lift style paddock stands. I wouldn't fancy leaving it unattended for long periods of time though.
In future I'll get myself an Abba stand, I find getting my bike onto a paddock stand by myself a little awkward |

I'd glue some old inner tube rubber into the cups that hold the swingarm, holds it a little firmer and stops it scratching the swingarm, either that or use the bobbin type. Also I've never thought that type of front stand is very stable, I prefer the type with a pin that slots in the headstock tube. ____________________ I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realise that what you heard is not exactly what I meant |

Wow those abba stands look cool. I'm trying to find a used one, some on eBay but most seem to be collection only. I don't want to pay £100 for one but £50-£60 isn't too bad
Thanks for all the replies. I might get some bobbins anyway as they look quite good |

If you get one secondhand and don't have the right fitting kit for your bike, go to the Abba site and find the right kit number for your bike. Then do an ebay search for that kit number and you might find one cheaper, as someone might've switched bikes and will be selling off their old kit. ____________________ Currently: Yamaha DT 125 LC2,Repsol Fireblade, and Bumblebee MSX 125 |
