So I've completely mullered my front wheel bearing when trying to remove it, one side ok, the other side is really bad.

Which other Kwak wheels will fit? Ideally with minimal effort.

Ah OK, I seem to remember you having a first gen.

So I think you can have a wheel from:
Any er6 2006-2010
Any ZR750 2007-2010
Any KLE650 2008-2010

This is from memory so you will have to check.

A cheaper option would be to bore it out. 2005+ ZX6R's use the same wheel but with a larger OD bearing, so there is plenty of material to take away.

Another option is to use one of the 2005+ ZX6R wheels with a different bearing to match the ZX6 OD and the ER6 ID.

:edit: why did you need to grind it in the first place?

:edit 2: Just for a bit more info. The ER6 uses a 42x20x12 bearing on the front. the 05-08 ZX6R uses a 47x25x12 bearing on the front. So you could use a ZX6 wheel with a 47x20x12 bearing or bore out the damaged ER6 wheel to 47mm H7 and use the 47x20x12.

Ask around a few machine shops to see if they got a big enough lathe.

Looks like you cant get a 47x20x12

Closest is 47x20x14 I'm not sure if you can lose that much material though.

You could always use this as an excuse for a ZX6 fork upgrade, wouldn't cost much more that buying a new wheel. Laughing

I considered the fork option, but if I'm looking at a £200 for f**king it up. I'll break it as component parts go for good money on these. It's worth as much running as it is in pieces.

£175 plus the cost of getting the tyre swapped. I was planning on selling it in the next couple of months anyway.

Haven't actually got a pic. The wheels are ridiculously expensive. It is almost the same cost to throw a full front end on from something else.

I found somewhere local that could bore out to 47mm, no idea of price though. Went to remove discs, bolts just round out, managed 2 out of 5 one side and none the other. Potential costs have spiraled to the point I need to bin it. Very few options for a front wheel on this, I can't believe it.

You shouldn't need to take the disks off, just pull the tyre off.

Does there look to be enough material to take it out to 14mm deep?

Oh ok, I need to arrange a picture. In all honesty, the damage isn't THAT bad. Where the outer race seats, it POSSIBLY could be re-machined to 42MM, as I don't think I went through (or just nicked it). The outer race is still in there. 47MM would be easy but not sure about depth. Would have to look.

I'll go back and have a look later.
