Just picked it up today, 6500 miles on the clock, the guy I bought it from was the only owner from new. Well looked after.
Can't ride it until the summer when I go for my practical tests but at least I can look at it until then lol
Had a shot on it though and feels awesome much better than my wee cbr125!! |

Nice one, that'll be a great A2 bike.
Probably shouldn't post anything else.
Really shouldn't.

Bikesure will let you do it, but only for a limited time on the assumption that you'll be getting licensed up soon. 3 months? You'd have to ask them.
You can get "laid up" insurance for fire and theft. Since this doesn't offer 3rd party cover, even if you have it, the bike needs to be SORNed or the DVLA will be after their blackmail money.
It does seem somewhat precipitous, and an awful temptation to just ride it round the block... to the shops... to work... ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

That's fine, but be aware that the moment that it's not insured (for 3rd party liability) it should be SORNed. You can do it online as soon as you receive the new V5C in your name (and sadly not before then, since you don't know that you've been registered as the new keeper).
In practice we seem to have about a month's grace, but I'd do it ASAP just to avoid any hassle from the DVLA. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I got myself one of them about a month ago, an personally I love it.
Think its a great little get around, and has a good bit of punch to it aswell.
Be happy its got a new exhaust on it though, as the stock one is bloody massive.

I will to this later today then |
You caught me before the edit.
You actually can't SORN it until the DVLA have changed the keeper information. If it's SORNed now, it'll be done under the current keeper's name, and as soon as the DVLA change it to you, the SORN will be cancelled.
It's very annoying as it makes it essentially impossible to be completely legal if the bike isn't insured, since the moment it's in your name it should be SORNed, but you can't SORN it until you know that you're the keeper (several days later).
Just do it as soon as you get the V5C in your name, you'll be fine.

You can trim off the top, but could also consider narrowing it a little instead or having it trimmed to this shape ^
I found that it's the width of the seats on the Bandit variants that makes them feel taller than they are.
Alternatively, if you feel comfortable with the seat-to-peg height, you can just lower the bike slightly and cheaply. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
