Posted: 23:39 - 20 Mar 2014 Post subject: Loose exhaust pipe - NOW WITH VIDEO! |
 |
|
Evening guys and gals.
I've noticed that my exhaust can is a little loose. It doesn't seem like the clamp is 100% tight, but I'd have thought tight enough. When I try to wobble the exhaust can, the link pipe doesn't move at all, but the end of the can moves quite a bit. Generally where the end of the carbon meets the beginning of the actual can, where you can see the rubber part. Pretty much anything you can see of the exhaust (in this photo) that is silver doesn't budge an inch. I've attached the below photo to show where I mean.
Now I haven't attempted to tighten any of the bolts yet, simply because it was 9pm by the time I got home and raining. I just wanted to know if the bolts by the arrow are to blame, or whether the construction of the actual exhaust is questionable?

Ok I've tried tightening, and that's not doing a thing. Here's a video to show you what is happening. I'm hoping this can be sorted.

Micron on my fireblade does that although not that much, however on mine it's because the threads on one of the bolts don't 'bite' enough. The bolt falls out, I keep meaning to do something about it. Will probably tap it with a larger bolt. ____________________ Currently: Yamaha DT 125 LC2,Repsol Fireblade, and Bumblebee MSX 125 |
