Fun in a place where it's not ridiculously dangerous for normal pedestrians and vehicles = not illegal

I like the ACE. But, I don't like its positioning.
Years ago we used to ride in along the A316 and across the city to get there..which I hated with a passion, filtering most of the way.
Later discovered the easiest route in (and the most boring), M3, M25, M40...
Not been to the ACE since I moved further south. Too many countryside places which have more allure than a cafe in London. Despite the fact its a place where I can meet up with mates such as HK and Hawk.

Every summer there's a story about the Ace closing, and it's still there. Scare mongering from the Daily Mail of the motorcycle world? ____________________ My Flickr

No stunts - no point in the Ace anyway.
It's not particularly dangerous for pedestrians and other vehicles - and most of the pedestrians are there FOR the stunts. I think that makes it a 'social' issue, rather than 'anti-social' . |

Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014
The police can indeed now shut down anywhere they like for pretty much any reason they like, including the delightfully vague "disorder near those premises associated with the use of those premises".
That's not subject to judicial oversight or appeal, and can be for up to to 48 hours (from a Superintendent or higher). Even a humble Inspector can perform a 24 hour lockdown. That means they can literally lock down the building, and then, delightfully, bill the owners for the bullet costs of doing so.
The issue then goes before the magistrates, who must hear it within 48 hours, and who can then extend the shutdown for up to 3 months. Critically, even if the short term notice isn't extended, there is nothing in the Act to prevent the police from simply imposing repeated 48 hour shutdowns with no right of appeal.
Granted, the premises owner can apply for compensation later if they can show that they were not associated with the behaviour, and that they took reasonable steps to prevent that behaviour, which is clearly what the Ace owners are trying to do. However, unlike the fast tracked shutdown extension hearings, there's no such urgency for the hearing to decide compensation.
So it is a genuine and novel threat. Even if courts don't extend the orders, even if they (in principle) might compensate the owner for loss of earnings at some far flung point in the future, could the Ace survive a couple of surprise weekend lockdowns? ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I imagine its royal fail who keep complaining, I sure would hate to be driving one of those big lorries down the middle of a stunt strip on a Friday night!
One hit the notorious KTM Duke 990 last Friday. God damn that guy has got some mad skills.
Annoying thing about ace is the few r125 riders with essentially no exhausts doing crap stoppies and non existent wheelies. Please just F**k off. ____________________ Malaguti F12 Phantom-Dead, Suzuki AY50- Dead, NRG power DD LQ, CBR125.
