I remember rogerborg, you told me about some putty stuff to make a sort of earplug. still in my watched items on ebay many moons on.

i find i don't bother with headphones because they won't bloody stay in when putting helmet on and off.

any chance that putty stuff is any good for moulding around a headphone to help it stay in? or is that adding shit for the helmet to pull out?

headphones + putty ok for hearing? after i've been commuting 120 mile a day, without ear plugs, i can feel i've lost some part of my hearing and don't want to lose much/any more

Generally my in ear earphones always work, but in the winter with a snood holding them in place they work like ear buds and block out noise, you then also have the choice to listen to some motivational tunes on the way into work.

Depends on the lid. No problems with my Nitro flippy. Only one way to find out. I've got them moulded smooth on the outside which I tell myself gives the lid less leverage to haul them out.

Longest stint I've done with them is 10 hours, Glasgow to Glanamman. Comfort was fine, no fatigue, no ringing. Works for me.

Yes. The music was audible, wind noise was cut significantly.

I used a cheap pair with squishy rather than rigid buds, but I imagine that anything that actually goes fairly snugly into your lughole would do.

Just get yourself a pair of these:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Plugphones-earphones-with-Moldex-Rocket-eartips-3-5mm-jack-plug-FREE-P-P-/330747791801?pt=UK_AudioVisualElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Headphones&hash=item4d021ac9b9

They're bloody brilliant and saves all that buggering about with putty.

I've tried a few types of non-musical, reusable ear plugs that looked like that.

Created a pressurised chamber in my ear canal on the way in, and a vacuum on the way out. Very very uncomfortable, they all went straight in the bin.

They used to be my earphones of choice, until I got some Beats for free (mobile upgrade). Very good, but the wire broke really easily on my last couple of pairs.

Well, nothing lasts forever, but I've been using mine for over a year with no problems at all. Comfy for all day use and great as ear plugs if you don't want to listen to music.

I use the CX300s. They are a great fit, keep the noise out from the wind/bike. The only thing is the bass is a little tinny for my liking. All in, well worth the money.

Doesn't work. Tried this a few years ago. Just buy a bog standard £5 pair of in-ear earphones.
