there not cracks.
if you run your fingernail over them you'll notice they stick out like a burr.
there caused by thermal expansion cracking of the die that was used to cast those aluminium parts.
every time you pour liquid ali into the die and let it solidify the die gets heat cycled which causes thermal stress and leads to the die cracking.
it occurs quicker in parts of the die with step changes or tight rads, hence probably why its across that rad on the upstand.
theres nothing wrong with the casting and your engine isnt going to assplode, hence why they continue using the "damaged" tooling to keep costs down. ____________________ Turbocharged drag thing / project death weapon / GK73A

Nothing to worry about - probably just surface cracks due to casting (as stated by others) and nothing will leak in or out. ____________________ Honda Varadero XL125(V8)
