Put the bike on the side-stand, and watch the Engine Light as you turn on the ignition.

Count the number of long and short flashes - this represents a number.

Long flash = 10, short flash = 1, so 3 x Long plus 4 x short = 34.

Post back with the result.

But won't cure the fault!

As soon as you try to start the engine, the ECM goes into fail mode again.

You need to find out what the fault code refers to - and fix the problem.

(My guess is the fuel pump - common problem on those)

Edit: Putting the ECU in a freezer, can totally destroy it!

Giving crap advice is daft and very unnecessary. Poor show.

There is a clicking noise coming from the back seat when i try to turn her over but im not mechanical i don't know if its the battery but lights and horn all work.

If the light is going off after a few seconds then it's not a problem.

The clicking is either battery not having enough juice to turn the starter motor or a bad connection.

It will power the lights and horn and what not, but the starter requires a far greater amperage. Just get a multimeter across the terminals.

Is there any other way to check I don't have a multimeter or just get it from halfords or somewhere ?

By terminals do you mean the battery i just don't really know anything about bikes.

Thanks.

Yeah you can get a multi meter from halfords, although tool station is probably cheaper.

Put the dial to dc volts 20, then put the red lead on the positive battery terminal, and the black lead on the negative.

They usually sit at around 12.5volts, you can also check the voltage as you try to start it, if the voltage drops dramatically (say 9 volts) then the battery will need changing.

Ok that is good thanks.

I think it may need changing its an 11 plate i got it last july with 7000 miles with 3 owners wasn't the best looking so not really been cared for.

I had to change tyres chain sprockets when i got it and also asked the mechanic to check it over in a honda dealership he said it was ok except cosmetic stuff.
