can i use wd40 for contact cleaning ?

or should i use brake cleaner ?

or wd40 contact cleaner ?

Use switch cleaner. It contains a lubricant to protect the contacts as well as a cleaning solvent that won't damage the switchgear but will remove any deposits.

Best to use a proper contact cleaner spray, which you can get from Maplins or RS.

There is a specialist contact cleaner marketed under the WD40 name (Click), but normal WD40 leaves a residue that can attract dust and grit, and is also inflammable - I have seen a switch catch fire after being sprayed with normal WD40.
