Best to use a proper contact cleaner spray, which you can get from Maplins or RS.
There is a specialist contact cleaner marketed under the WD40 name (Click), but normal WD40 leaves a residue that can attract dust and grit, and is also inflammable - I have seen a switch catch fire after being sprayed with normal WD40. ____________________ Honda Varadero XL125(V8)
