 Posted: 22:18 - 19 May 2015 Post subject: Twin headlights & MOT? |
 |
|
hi,
if a bike is fitted with twin headlights, do they BOTH have to work for the MOT?
bike has twin headlights, but its just 1 big unit, with each side separated by a piece of black plastic.
both sides have main/dipped & those wee useless bulbs (T10?) but the glass is cracked on 1 side after a run in with a swan. yes, a f*ckin swan. b*stard nearly killed me with its suicidal tendencies!
would covering up the broken side be ok?
i was thinking of just taping a piece of black plastic over the one side.
i cut out a template out of cardboard then cut out the shape on thin plastic, the type that ice cream containers are made of.
I then sprayed it black & i could stick it on fairly easy..
i have pulled out the bulbs on the broken side, just in case some light could be seen through my ghetto lense cover.
opinions?
i dont care how it looks, i just want it to pass the MOT.
please dont tell me to buy a new headlight unit, they cost around £150 & have to be ordered & they are like hens teeth 2nd hand.
cheers,

YOU CAN USE IT WHENEVER YOU WANT WITH THE TAPE REMOVED.
HTH.
<helpful> If you are passing it to sell it on, fix it, if you are going to use it then just tape up for the MOT and remove after. You can ride at night. |
