 |
|
I've spotted an SV650 that I might have a look at. Whatever I buy it will be my first big bike as I've just got my license, I'm coming from a YBR 125.
I learnt on an ER6 and wanted to buy something with a similar upright riding position. How would the SV650 compare? It looks more of a sports bike riding position but it's hard to tell.
I know I could wait to look at it but I'm impatient. |

The N has flat bars, IIRC, for a more Bandit-esque position.
You can't go wrong with a Bandit, it'll feel like a rocketship compared to a 125, bits are cheap and plentiful, and they rarely go wrong. ____________________ Mpd72: I can categorically say i’m Brighter than that, no matter how I come across on here.

I've rented SV650(Naked), ER-5 and ER-6. ER-5 felt enough upright and SV650(N) felt little bit racy compared to W650 which has similar position to YBR125. SV650S(faired) had totally different position according to ergo page.
(Foward lean was YBR<W650<ER-5<SV650(N)<ER-6<<<SV650S)
(Both ER-6n and f have same type handle bar) ____________________ own:2020 Serow 250

I've just been informed my hatred of my CBR might be the cam chain tensioner rather than just a poor sounding engine design |

It's because no one steals SV650s. Too homosexual.
Enjoy it, for a starting bike I couldn't really fault it but there are better, I'm sure you'll grow and see it |

ER-6F being faired, looks like it should be further forward than it is, as tends to happen with bikes that have a naked and faired version. As has been said, both the N&F have the same bars and seating position. It's quite upright and on long journeys has given me coccyx and neck pain. Which also adds more buffeting.
Nearly bought an SV650S before the ER6, but didn't think I'd like the more forward position. In that respect for me I was wrong, is the SV650S better, both have their good and bad parts. It was my first big bike, both would've felt awesome to me, THEN! ____________________ Currently: Yamaha DT 125 LC2,Repsol Fireblade, and Bumblebee MSX 125 |
