I wouldn't say nothing unless asked... and even then I'd under-describe the accident.. As long as the bike is 100% safe to ride and in as-described condition then there's no problem really. ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

I wouldn't say unless specifically asked. Then, if I were asked, the answer would be dependant on whether I was the owner from new - if yes, then I'd admit to some (but play it down), if not then the answer would be "not to my knowledge". ____________________ Current: CB500 Previous: CB100N, CB250RS, XJ900F, GT550, GPZ750R/1000RX, AJS M16, R100RT, Enfield Bullet

I'll be the boring bugger (as usual) with the legal standpoint...
As a seller you don't have to mention that the bike has been involved in any accident damage unless specifically asked by the prospective purchaser. Obviously the bike has to be roadworthy unless you're selling it as a 'spare and/or repair' vehicle but you can be (fairly) economical with the truth when it comes to the bikes history.
Personally I'd advertise it as normal however, if you lie when asked a direct question regarding the crash history of the vehicle you could face a civil claim for remuneration should it be proved that you told a porky to gain a sale at a later date.

Last bike I bought the previous owner was up front about it falling over (he didn't mention at what speed though ). The repair is very good, had to look really close. You can only tell on the rear of the panels, have to be careful when removing them.
Anyhow, guess that made me look over the bike really carefully. As the guy had been up front and was reasonable about the price I ended up striking a deal
If I'd have found the damage myself I'd have probably walked away.

Its quite sad to think that we are such a tight unit of people (nods and helping each other) but when it comes to money there are still more than a few who would happily let someone else pick up the tab for their mistakes.
I say this only because a good friend of mine (allimc) has now had 2 bikes with expensive problems. Sure you could say its her fault for not being careful enough, but you can't spot everything.
My brother bought a TL1000 6mths ago and recently found that the frame has a large rather nasty crack near the rear shock. It has also been repaired once. Not nice when you pay top dollar.
I myself am willing to take the hit for my own mistakes, if I broke it then someone else won't pay. That said, if it was fixed professionally and the price set to match, then I wouldn't walk away as a buyer (unless I found it without being told).
It just seems that its always the nice people who get ripped off.
Jaffa I don't think you would get much less for it though. ____________________ Travelling around the world...a bit at a time. Where am I now? / Visit my BLOG
