Use decent 2-stroke oil. I'm using GTS at the moment, but you can use good semi-synthetic also.
Warm up for a good 3-5 miles before going past about 5000 revs.
When starting from cold, put the choke on full, and wait until the revs drop to normal idle speed, about 1.5-2k, then choke fully in. You might need a little blip of the throttle when you come off the choke to keep it running (if it's very cold).
All other maintenance is general, so I think that's it for 2-strokes.
