Was in Hein gericke the other day and was enquiring about a new tinted visor when the kind man recommended me a Fog City insert that reacts to the UV light to go darker during the day and lighter at night and are fully road legal. Seems like a good idea and it has the fog city technology to keep the fog out of your visor. It is £30 has anybody here tried one as I am considering getting one? ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. I had one in my old lid. Very good, changed quickly and prevented fogging. I had it about 18months before i started to notice it wasnt getting as dark as it used to.
Good piece of kit and the nice guys at HG fitted mine for me for free to.

I THINK I've got one yeah...says hyperoptics on it
Well worth the money, try as I might, I jsut can't get the thing to steam up. Goes a shade of blue when it's very sunny, but I prefer my dark visor for sunny rides. |

Yeah, I have one and it is very good. I mainly bought it to stop the visor misting, but the tint thing works quite well too. ____________________ Past >>>> Honda NSR 125 >>>> Suzuki GSXR 600 K1 >>>> Suzuki GSXR 600 K4 >>>>Kawasaki Z1000 DAF >>>>Suzuki RMZ 250 >>>> Current >>>> KTM Superduke R 1290 >>>> |

Another vote for Fog City here. I have a couple of different ones - clear insert on a race visor, Hyper Optik on a clear visor for those colder, damper days
They're pretty easy to fit, just maker sure the visor is clean and dry, and try to make sure you put the insert on straight and so that it sits within the aperture space of the helmet. Hyper Optiks come with a plastic guide to stick on the outside of the visor, to aid alignment during fitting.
My first one lasted almost two years before the seal deteriorated ____________________ Power Ranger |

I have one, they work ok, as others have said, the legal tint is probably not enough in summer, but winter was fine. #
Fog City Visor Inserts certainly get from me. I get one for every visor I buy.
One point though, be careful if you have a Shoei helmet, some of them don't like the hyperoptics because they are too thick and the helmet then won't close properly. Mine didn't and I've had to put up with it not opening or closing easily. Normal fog city's are fine though. ____________________ Travelling around the world...a bit at a time. No, I meant not perfect as I can obscure vision to the sides.
I mentioned the incorrect fitting as a warning as once its in, it doesnt come off. Much like the mrs |
