Yes I specially bought kosher mayonnaise which I used instead of butter.
And I sat the sliced tomatoes on a spare slice of bread to get the worst of the moisture out of them.

Turned out not to need them, so I brought them home again.

The dog scoffed the salt beef but turned her nose up at the chopped herring (I suspect it was the raw onion which I *tried* to pick out Laughing

I advertised a paddock stand on Facebook Marketplace and gave my address to the first respondent, who also asked when he could come round. Waited all evening but no-show and still no message two days later. Just rude. I had even put off another punter saying I thought it would be collected imminently. Anyhow, a stranger now knows my address and that I probably own a bike. Christ, who’d work with the public!? Bastards.

Took 19 years to get a life changing operation for free. Unless you pay money, this country is dog slow brother.

Some prat who lives opposite my daughter decided to reverse into my car. His excuse was that there wasn't normally a car parked there so he didn't look. Anyway, me being a reasonable person let him do things outside of insurance as his excess is £1,500 and it's a £500 type job. Good job it wasn't the bike, otherwise I'd be up for murder.

If they call it "service charge" they have to pay tax. "Discretionary" hand waves in into the realm of tips that aren't taxed at the moment. Rachel from accounts will get onto it soon.

I strongly suspect that by calling it a "discretionary charge" rather than a "discretionary service charge" that means they're trying to get around the legislation, Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023, which requires the employer to pass all tips, gratuities and service charges onto their staff.

If you want to give the staff a tip for providing good service then do that. But a discretionary charge? Gtfo because the employer is pocketing that.

A decent place would have a tronc master and all the service charges, tips included, would be precisely distributed amongst the staff Wink

Zevon the werewolf got rained on and I think his battery has gone kaput.

He's stopped howling and his eyes don't light up purple any more.
There was briefly a sort of clicking noise but now even that's stopped.

Oh well *guitar riff*
It was fun while it lasted.

I have put a bin-liner on him as a sort of raincoat and I will take it off at Halloween to scare the little kids Laughing

A while back someone rear-ended Mrs stinkwheels car at a roundabout (a peugeot RCZ). Insurance wrote it off sight unseen. I had a look and it wasn't that bad so we decided to keep it, got a hefty payout which IMO was more than enough to fix it so that didn't particularly grind any gears.

Took it into a local bodyshop who had previously done a cracking job on one of my motors in a similar circumstance. When it came back, it looked like crap, still big gaps in the bodywork, rear light not working, parking sensors reading a fault and it turns out it's raining in. That mildly ground my gears.

Took it to another spot this week to give it a look over and now my gears are very ground. They actually had a proper look. Turns out the alloy rear bumper support bar is totally mullered (as it should be after a shunt, that's its job). I originally thought it was which is why we took it to a body shop in the first place. Hadn't been touched and this is the main reason why everything is off-whack. Got a replacement for £35.

Going in deeper he said he can't see anything wrong with the reversing sensors themselves but they are unplugged and he can't see where they plug in. A bit of digging reveals the secondary ECU they plug into is gone. It's just straight-up been removed from where it lives inside the boot leaving two empty bolt holes. Again, a replacement was beer money from a breakers. No way it was damaged in the shunt though, it couldn't have gone anywhere if it had fallen off and no clear reason why you'd remove it. I can only conclude the initial body shop have nicked it for some reason.

Anyway, the new guy seems to know what he's about. The first body shop have fully ground my gears though. I could go back to them and complain but it's unlikely to achieve anything. However, this is a small town/rural area and I talk to people.
