Down into 1st, and then half a tap up.

Shouldn't be too difficult.

Don't you have a neutral indicator?

As said above, tap all the way down, then lift it up a little and it will slip into neutral.

As the others said. A gentle tap/lift otherwise you'll keep going in to 2nd. Thumbs Up

Sounds like you already know how to do it, but it is still fiddly. Just got to slowly increase the pressure until it pops into neutral

Revving the bike, or rolling it forward a little usualy helps.

Two strokes son't like changing gear when not moving full stop mate (at least so I'm told). My TZR is the same.

Most bikes do it, honda's seem to do it more than most. Stop it in 1st, turn the ignition off, change to Nuetral and turn the ignition back on, goes in EVERY time if you do that.

My CB250 and my 250 Rebel have the same problem, Honda's do suffer from this.

I had the same problem occasionally on my old NSR just rev the engine a little as you are doing it seems to do the trick. a change of gearbox oil might be a suggestion as well.

as dafrostyone said

you will more than likely have to turn the engine off then turn the ignition on then select neutral

if you can select neutral at the lights i will give you five pounds

If you do come to a stop in 1st and despirately need to get into neutral without turning the ignition on and off, blip the throttle and it will go in sometimes Thumbs Up

NSR can be a bit of a bitch sometimes....
It's easy enough to get into neutral, but on some examples I guess it takes a bit of arsing about.

just though i would come back to this old post and say i fixed this problem and it took my girfriends dad approx 5 seconds lol i had to much clutch free play, he adjusted it from the handbars and it goes into neutral whenever and wherever (shakira Laughing ) any way it has also improved my acceleration and shockingly top speed it seems to get further through the gears before red lining! Thumbs Up hope it helps

Yep, every time I found my NSR hard to click it into neutral while at a standstill I'd tighten up the clutch cable. Works every time Thumbs Up Turn the engine off though and it's no problem anyway. But then I only ever used neutral when I was getting off the bike so it didn't matter.

I can't understand how it's improved top speed though, because if you have too much free play, the clutch engages earlier in the lever movement.
