Can I just ask, as it does affect wheelying. I know you probably can't do this on the ZXR 400 anyway, but if I am low revs in a gear, and I like whack the throttle on, it kinda gargles and doesn't really go at all, so I have to release and do it more gradually. What would be causing this? Sorry to go off topic. ____________________ My NSR --> https://members.boards.ie/instinct/Diagonal.jpg

Thanks Dr Nick, so this is normal for my bike then, to not really go if I pull the throttle back fast in low revs? ____________________ My NSR --> https://members.boards.ie/instinct/Diagonal.jpg

Thanks for the advice.
So to wheely 400's you have to drop the clutch a fair bit I take it. I saw this BCF video which was at box hill. A green and white ZXR 400 was the main focus of the video. One guy (Zim I think? In green leathers, dunno who he is) was really good at wheelying it, though he did keep going in first gear until you hear some painful high rev noise that has gone past redline lol... ____________________ My NSR --> https://members.boards.ie/instinct/Diagonal.jpg

If i were to crack my throttle open in top gear at 3k rpm, it would probably stall |

My GS barely lifts...
<15mph, first gear, clutch in at about 5k revs, rev it up to 8-9k revs, drop and hope. It doesnt even lift in second gear, and attempting to do a "Roll On" style where you simply drop and open the throttle simply hurts your arms a little as it pulls away. ____________________ CBT Aug '03 ... It seems most people do power wheelies on here but I've heard that the pro's tend to only do clutch wheelies, anyone know why? ____________________ Enjoy Life There's Plenty of Time to be Dead

power wheelies are for amateurs Clutching tends to give you a lot more control over the wheelie when getting it up. |
