Second time around and I passed my Practical Test today with reasonable flying colours (well, I thought so - only two minors), and I'm now riding my own little 'beauty' (see attached). All legally taxed, MOT'd and insured.

And the feeling is great. Very Happy

I'd like to thank everyone for your moral support in these postings, and a special thanks to my instructors. Without their help, support and undying patience I wouldn't have stood a chance!

Thanks to everyone. Thumbs Up

Yeh. Total test time is about 40 - 45 minutes, but that includes getting kitted out with the radio and answering the 'bike knowledge' questions and the eyesight test at the start.

On the road, it took about 25 - 30 minutes. But I have a feeling my examiner wasn't perfectly satisfied with some of my manouvres, so he took me around a couple of extra routes just to ensure I was a competent rider.

I think that if the examiner can see that you are 100% confident and are capable of riding safely, then there is no need for him/her to persecute you any further. Believe me, they can tell if your a competent rider. Even though you're nervous on your test.

No probs for me though. The 2 minors I got were definitely justified because I know I deserved them. And I have no reservations whatsoever towards my examiner.

Just relax, ride for yourself and do what YOU think is right for the situation. But be positive, logical and, most of all SAFE.

The feeling's great. Just like when I passed my car test when I was 17 years old. Mind you, that was a bloody long time ago and things have certainly changed over all those years.

With todays appalling road conditions, it seems to me that one of the finest arts of riding a bike is actually staying upright and riding in a straight line - ha!
