Thanks for the reply Yokogeri
So full choke is push it fully upwards,
Glad you could tell me the setting for the choke to be off that is what i was really after knowing. as long as i can start it with no problems & it runs fine with NO choke then i feel i dont have to worry.
You have been a help & thanks again |

The choke on a CG125 carburettor (and on most carburettors) is a plate which is actuated by a sprung lever, pushed by the hand operated lever, which has three positions.
The plate revolves about a spindle across its face. The plate is normally edge on to the airflow, and as such, presents little obstruction to the flow. As you pull the lever up, the plate turns so that it presents more of its face to the flow, blocking more of the area.
This smaller cross-sectional area makes the air flow faster (in order to fit the same amount of air through a smaller gap it has to flow faster) and so reduces the air pressure. This 'increased vacuum' sucks more fuel through the jets and so makes the engine run richer.
The reason the engine stalls when you put the choke on full is either because the choke plate entirely closes the carburettor body and no air flows, or because there simply isn't enough air to burn enough fuel to keep the engine turning over.
See the attached diagram for a very simplified schematic of a CG carburettor. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

CG125 choke was covered in another thread also - click here - for info.
Without seeing it not sure but IMO the hole in the exhaust on the underside is probably a drain for condensation. When you start the bike after a spell stood idle you may notice water droplets from it. The theory is it should help slow down the exhaust corroding from the inside out (but it will eventually anyhow, due to the nature of the gasses acting on the metal - creates an acid).

Id guess the cg125 is still a carbed bike,
Find your carb, has pipes down from fuel tank, and a air pipe in from the airbox,
and adjust the screw when bike is hot like in the picture below
https://www.teamcalamari.com/pix/24mm/7a.jpg
or its just the screw on your carb on the far left usually. sometimes middle, just count how many times uve wound incase u need to get it back to what it previously was. ____________________ Past: '05 Peugeot XPS '99 Aprillia RS125 '94 FZR600R
