STOLEN! GSXR1000K5 Stealth! Finchley, N. London

A mate of a mate had his Stealth K5 nicked last night from Finchley, North London.
I know its a long-shot but if anyone spots it...

No mods that I'm aware of except maybe small plate (prob gone by now) and it WAS alarmed. Only 500 miles on the clock!

I live down the road from there and was stopped yesterday by the police and told that alot of high powered bikes have been stolen lately around here and thats why they wanted to have a word (i was pushing it up the street) will keep a look out but

Awful, awful .... Those thugs are real picky about their stash, huh. I'll bet on the professional thievery scum -- stealing good, almost-new bikes, breaking their parts up and selling them online or even locally. It might be that the scumbags who did it are keeping tabs on your friend for days before they finally hit on it. Let's hope that the police are already on their trail...Witnesses might be useful, too.

I dint get my bike nicked this week, but sum fag stole petrol cap, grips and bar ends, cost me 22 quid to replace. Really not helpful when trying to pay off lots of money for my new bike.

I was our for a sunday afternoon ride a couple of months ago and became aware of a red mgf convertible behind me. Wasn't tailgating or annoying me in any way but I wasn't aiming for anywhere in particular and my route (Loughton, Waltham Cross, Enfield, Chingford) didn't make sense for him if he was trying to get from point A to B.

I just saw the novelty value initially, thinking he's also out for a spin on a sunday afternoon and maybe interested in getting a bike; I used to sometimes follow bikes in the car when I was doing my training just hoping to pick up tips and look at their lines through corners etc.

Then I got thinking there might be another motive here and there's no way I'm gonna let him follow me to my front door. So anyway, we get onto the North Circ and I open up and shake him off but I'm looking in the mirrors and he's undertaking and diving in between lanes, trying his damndest to keep me in sight. Strange..... Why would he bother to that extent?

I'm now more conscious of anything that follows me over a distance and if a strange car follows me into my cul de sac then I'll go around, come out again and do a quick circuit just to make sure. Not that I'm paranoid; it's just that I think everyone's potentially out to nick my bike.

I had something similar today, a 7series BMW followed me for i guess about 15miles....

He started following me on the A2 from Greenwich, i turned off the at the Danson interchange and so did he, i was on my way to change a tire for a friend in sidcup so i carried on as normal thinking its just coincidence, now i know the area so i was using back roads as a short cut and he was still following me.

I eventually get to where im going after taking a few quick turns that he still took, i pull in and stop get off my bike and walk towards him then he drives off staring at me.

Now was this somebody following me to scope out my bike or was it an undercover copper?
