 |
|
I've noticed in many signatures at the end of posts that people have two-three bikes listed (sometimes with one crossed off;sold maybe).
So what is it with having multiple bikes? And please don't tell me it's for when one breaks down. I'm going to buy my first bike soon (finally one to call my own) if things go well God-willing, so having to think that way would be depressing.

If I could afford too, I'd have several bikes. Wanting an off roader for this winter to muck about on.
Also, wouldn't say no to a track bike.
If you've got it, flaunt it eh? ____________________ Old bikes >>> https://www.bikepics.com/members/cc123/ |

Ideally (if i had the cash) i would have:
CB500
KTM 660
Honda RS250
RVF400
Virago/harley
R1
Pan Euro
Bonnie
I personnally could easily justify owning all of the above bikes at the same time as they all have strenghs and purposes. Commuting on a sports bike isnt fun, hence the CB500, pan euro for touring, cruiser for sticking to the speed limits in style and comfort, R1 as the road sports bike, rs250 as the track bike RVF for the twisties, ktm for stunting and off road
If you can afford multiple bikes, then why the hell not?
Multiple bikes is just like owning a classic car you polish every day, aswell as a 1 litre run about and a sports car. No you can't drive them all at once, but each can do things the other can't |

Also people end up getting attached to them and can't bear to sell.
Not me, I couldn't wait to get rid of the last piss-annoying thing.
If you've got the cash, I say do what you love, there's a bike for every use. |

I have one that is going to be my main touring/razzing about bike when I get a few details sorted out.
One that I am keeping because it runs well and the cosmetic damage has reduced its value to nothing, it also shares an engine with my first one so if that goes bang I have a spare.
Another of the same that I ran into the ground and have dismantled for spares for the first two.
One classic bike that I am doing up and will eventually cruise about on for the sheer hell of it. It also has a wacky engine that burns shitloads of petrol and makes loads of smoke so I can thumb my nose at authority.
One that I just like the general cheapness, reliability and simplicity of the engineering on that I derive great pleasure from riding about like an idiot at rediculously slow speeds using virtually no fuel.
One that I have had for years, has been written off twice and that I keep coming back to like a dog coming back to its sick. I would also have to pay someone to take it away.
I like them all and derive pleasure from them all. The most expensive one cost me £1400, the cheapest (and longest serving) was £200. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

You see now, Arabian Night? There's a reason for everything.
and Black Night, one reason for getting into biking again was to be able to tell the missus I'm going out for a 'ride'. When she leaves, she can't even say I was lying to her.
Before you all flame me, you don't know what she's been up to! But I do and she don't know what I know!! Shame we've got children together, but then again it ain't a shame, cos they are the reason blah blah blah too much information........................
And I'm sitting at a computer at 1am when i should be wiping it on the curtains. (old joke springs to mind) ____________________ Check my website. look at my profile though as putting it here would be spamming methinks (I worked hard to create it so at least look at it!) Nothing to do with bikes I might add! Might appeal to the more feminine personality. |
