It cost me £350 in total to get on the road, forgetting the cost of new bike, gear etc.
I have had my licence taken away, I need to do everything again, I wont be giving up.
Do it man, go back and sort your fucking flaws out.
Good luck ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

failed on different things each time, this time was not slowing form 60 to 30 over a junction as i didnt see the signs, they wever covered by the bushes at the side fo the road (everyone has some excuse but this is the truth) and the cars infront of me wernt slowing down. also he said i was too swervy at avoiding parked cars, got 2 minors for appropriate use of speed as i was on some NSL dual carriageways uphill and im on a 4 stroke 125 it wont do 60 uphill, i wont do 50 most of the time!! ____________________ Bah Humbug |

Cars aren't so bad, much better for winter. I'd do that and get a bike when you can. |

Dan,
Without want to sound funny, maybe you do need a few more lessons.
Anyone can ride a bike / drive a car. But they are also testing you just as much on your awareness and ability to drive on the road and with other drivers.
Dont give up chief, you'll get there. |

Agree with other posts above about lessons.
It's maybe changed now but I signed up with a training company for a 3 day course of lessons and they sorted the test out at the end. If I'd have failed they'd have given me extra lessons and all I'd need to pay for was the test again. Luckily it didn't come to that thanks to some excellent tutors
Is there any training places near you doing anything like that?
I know the intensive course wasn't that cheap (well for me at the time) but I can honestly say it's some if the best money I've ever spent in my life ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...

Don't give up i've failed 3 times aswell, its not a cheap way of learning but at least you find out where you are going wrong, its a shame they cant take nerves into account on a test
Keep at it mate

You cant pass a test unless you know whats in it, some lucky people do pass with out any lessons but not often.
Find a good local instructor who will sort out any problems with your riding and then take you round the test routes at the centre you will use or you can now down load all the test routes for your local centre and practise all you want. ____________________ www.dgridertraining.co.uk |

If you have an instructor already, get a new one. If not, get one.
I done about 12 lessons before my test at £30 a pop for 2.5 hours, but its a worthwhile investment to pass first time. ____________________ Northern Irish? www.nibikers.com |

It took me three attempts and more than £500 to get my licence. On both occasions I failed it was either nerves or bad luck. Now I've got it, it's behind me and all the money is immaterial - I've got a bike licence. It might well be expensive, but it is worth it.
Passing the test is about jumping through hoops, the same as passing educational qualifications. You have to show that you can pass the test, not that you are a safe rider. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

Get some lessons and look at it as training for work, you dont use all that you learn in one go, you store it away and will use it when you you need to,
If you dont know how to ride safely you won't ride safely, your instructor could give you more riding tips than you'd remember, Training is the one thing that is essential to staying alive on two wheels.
All the best with next test. ____________________ don't take it easy 'ride it like you stole it' |

1st should have passed but me emergency stop was not the best .
2nd nerves got the better of me
3rd meeting traffic i mis judged the gap and i got through classed as dangerous
4th got a 2 our lesson the night before, 2 minor faults and passe
Dont give up honestly
Now i went from a 125 Varadero (good learner bike due to size and weight) to my CBR600FY. ____________________ Current: 2019 Yamaha T7 -> 2015 KTM Superduke R | 2000 Yamaha R1 Past -> 2009 KTM 990 SM -> 2005 kawasaki ZX10r -> 2000 Honda CBR 600 FY -> 2002 Honda XLV 125 Varadero

The first thing to do is stop taking riding tips from BCF and get a proper instructor.

I'll give you 150 for the TW to cover your losses
Seriously though, do what you want, if you want to give up, do it, if you want to carry on, do it. We can't make that decision for you. All we can say is, you're going about the test the hard way, get some lessons. |
