......And saved the ThunderAce
Binned the KH125 on the way home from work tonight.
Some pratt in a honda civic in front of me on a 50mph limt duel carriageway by Hayes slamed his brakes on when the lights which were about 200m in front turned to yellow.
l tryed to slow the bike down to prevent me slamming into the back of him but lost the front wheel in the wet (nylon tyres and the wet don,t go well) l silded for about 50m with the bike on top of my left leg after hitting the road at 50mph, as soon as l came to a stand still l grabed the bike and dragged it off the road to the grass verge then checked my self and the bike over for damage, while l was doing this the honda had drove off and no one else going by bothered to stop.
damage
1993 Kawasaki KH125 (rat bike)
cracked headlight casing
bent inducator stems
snapped clutch lever
cracked and no longer working speedo
Me
scuffed leather jeans
ripped jacket elbow
ripped glove
scuffed helmet
Because l was wearing leathers with a armoured tex jacket l,m fine, and the bike only really needs a new clutch leaver to ride again (even though l rode it 15 miles home after the crash, using clutchless gear changes).
Be careful guys this winter, and wear leather/armoured tex ____________________ Past:NRG50,AF1125(x2),NSR125RR,ZZR250,CX500,VFR400,KR1S,ZZR600(x2),CB400N,YZF1000(x2),KH125,Z200,FX400R,CBR954RR(x2)GPZ500S,GT550,VFR750F(x2),RD350N,XR650R,CBR600F,CB250,KDX250,YZF750R,CRM250,400EXC,KLR650,TTR600RE,DR350S,R100GSPD,RGV250,VMAX1200,DL650,KZ750 Present:G650XC,C12,CRF450X,1190ADV |

You can ride the bike fine then, no need to fix anything. A clutch is a commodity, not a necessity! ____________________ Pictorgraphicalfantastical |

You have half a point. I suppose I should have made my self more clear for those who are so interested in my helmet.
It is a limited edition, therefore I would like to keep it looking all nice and shiny for as long as possible. Some people like to take their bikes out on Sundays when it's nice and sunny and warm, I don't have that option. But I do have the option of buying more kit and doing so for my lid. You see? Everyone Happy? |

Shame about the bike, strange when I crashed my kh100 years ago that trapped my right leg beneath the bars. Was wearing jeans at the time though . I went to a breakers and got replacement parts for the total sum of £6
When wearing an expensive lid such as an Arai you're getting more than just protection, there's the comfort factor and good ventilation as well.
With the exception of breath ventilation, these things don't tend to make as much difference on the winter commute, as when you're hooning around at 130mph on a sunny 30 degree summers' day. |
