Try a haynes manual ? You will probably use it for something else once you've bought it. Is your cg red? I saw one on the h3 the other day being ragged across a roundabout. Laughing

You need a manual, there are pictures and everything.

Basically, you want the points to be JUST opening as the 'T' mark on the flywheel lines up with the timing mark. You do this by losening the screw that holds the 'fixed' (non-moving) part of the points and nudging the points gap open or closed so they will grip a cigarette paper before the timing mark and are open enough so they won't conduct electricity to a bulb as you hit the timing mark.

Then check the gap is within tolerance. As I remember, there is no way of adjusting both the timing and the points gap on a CG125. Set the timing and if the gap is too big, buy new points.

As such, static timing should be good enough. I don't see the point of using a timing strobe on a CG as the timing and gap are a compromise as it is.
