Well, someone pointed out the obvious solution to my ground clearance problems on my KLE500 motard at the weekend. I need a set of 2" over standard fork stanchions, this will return the frame geometry to standard. I can drop them through the yokes if I refit the 21" wheel.
Trouble is, where to get them? (pretty sure they are the same as KLR650 ones) ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

Have you jacked up the rear already then ? just wondering why you want to lift the front 2"
I've been looking at the Dogbones for sale on EvilBay and thinking I could get some made up locally for half the price.

I want to lift the front 2" because I have dropped it 2" by fitting the 17" wheels.
Put some load or a pillion on the back of the bike and it is way too close to the ground for my liking, drags the pegs. Also grounds out on the landing from humpback bridges.
Shortening the dog bones would raise the back, but at the expense of sharpening the rake angle even further. It is about as twitchy as I am happy with already. Lengthening the forks would increase the rake again. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. You could always make a sleave to go over the joint which would clamp & strengthen the weakened area ____________________ If you don't pay your exorcist you can get repossessed.

I AM NOT RIDING A BIKE WITH SLUGGED FORKS!
Sodding dangerous idea that should have died with its inventors. Probably OK on a lazy chop with massively raked out forks, but even then they still came apart. I can just imagine me going over a humpback bridge only to be overtaken by the entire front-end of the bike just prior to landing. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink.
